The church has the responsibility to carry the gospel to the entire world. As part of that effort, we help support several missionaries. On occasion, we also provide one-time donations to help missionaries with special needs.
Mission efforts that we support include:
- Indonesia
- Colin and Ellen McKee are working in Indonesia under the sponsorship of the North MacArthur Church of Christ in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Colin previously served as Lincoln's preacher from 1984 to 1996. In 1996, the McKees returned to full-time mission work, having previously served in Indonesia from 1968-1973 and 1976-1979.
- Panama
- The primary thrust of this work is to prepare the Christians of Panama to evangelize their country. This is being accomplished by teaching and training local residents of Panama to be preachers and teachers in their own congregations. This work is overseen by the Forrest Park Church of Christ in Valdosta, Georgia.
- World Literature
- Lincoln helps support the World Literature work conducted by J.C. and Betty Choate. The World Literature work uses mass media tools, especially radio and literature, to spread the gospel of Christ. Hundreds of varied book titles have been printed in many countries, totaling well over a million books in circulation. A quarterly magazine, The Voice of Truth International, is published in over a dozen countries.
- Inner City Missions, Montgomery, Alabama
- Lincoln helps support Kenneth Kilpatrick in Montgomery's inner city. This work, started in Nashville, Tennessee, helps to evangelize the inner city areas of seven different cities in the southeastern United States.
- Wayne Kilpatrick
- Wayne teaches (mostly on Restoration Movement themes) at the Heritage Christian University and also is deeply involved in mission work in Mexico City.
- "One-time" Support
- Lincoln gives financial aid to various mission work from time to time. This aid includes support to Jerry Kilpatrick for mission work in Mexico, Guyana, and Africa. Lincoln has also helped send some of its own members to mission areas. Recently, assistance was provided to send our minister, Ron Williams, to Kenya and other members to Romania and England.
